The Los Angeles branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has successfully seized a collection of luxury racing motorcycles belonging to notorious drug kingpin Ryan James Wedding.
Wedding, who is listed among the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted fugitives, is a known motorcycle enthusiast with a collection estimated to be worth $40 million (RM174 million).
Legendary Machines Recovered
The seized assets include iconic Ducati machines once ridden by MotoGP legends such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Loris Capirossi, and Andrea Iannone.
The collection also features the Moto2 bike that propelled Marc Marquez to his 2012 World Championship title, as well as the Aprilia 125cc machine used by Rossi to clinch one of his earliest world titles.
A Cross-Border Operation
According to the FBI, the seizure is part of a broader enforcement action against the organized crime network linked to Wedding. The collection was recently discovered in a garage in Mexico, where approximately 50 racing motorcycles had reportedly been left neglected for an extended period.
“This month, Mexican authorities executed several search warrants and seized a significant number of motorcycles with an estimated value of around $40 million, believed to be owned by FBI Top 10 fugitive Ryan James Wedding,” stated a social media post by the FBI Los Angeles.
Strategic Cooperation
The successful operation was the result of close collaboration between Mexican authorities, the FBI, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
